Case Study BELL AG

"Jedox helps us better assess our needs and ensures greater efficiency. Relevant data, which previously had to be compiled manually with great effort, are now transferred automatically and reflect the current status with the minimum delay. The cooperation with iRIX was pleasant, we benefited from a high availability and understanding of our specific requirements.”

Marko Pirc, Head of Controlling Bell Schweiz AG

Bell AG is one of the leading meat processors in Europe and wants to make Jedox a tool for its financial planning.  At Bell, a Jedox-based solution has been in use for a year, but is only partially used.  Consolidation is unreliable, calculated revenues are too high and planning is therefore impossible.  Some intermediate results must even be manually checked and corrected.  The new, overhauled planning data solution is designed to improve performance and consolidation.  Bell decides to implement this solution with iRIX.

Together with Bell, iRIX defines the requirements and outlines the solution. Performance is improved by omitting unnecessary data queries. The system is therefore streamlined. A reliable consolidation of data is achieved by not querying data sets twice and defining decisive nodes. Bell is divided into various profit centres, from the cutting of raw materials (meat) to packaging (sausages, grilled meats, etc.). These profit centers settle their services among themselves and report to the cost center. Each profit center therefore generates sales with the same merchandise. For the individual stages through which the goods pass, it is now important to set the consolidation nodes correctly. This logic is solved by Bell in an SQL database, while distribution to profit centers is already carried out during sales planning and is accordingly transferred to cost planning.

All relevant data is now available almost in real time and reflects the precise actual state. This enables reliable planning with a short reaction time and means an increase in efficiency. Jedox's Excel integration allows controllers to use the solution as a driver-based capture frontend. In analysing the problem and implementing the solution, the Bell and iRIX project teams work closely together. Since the handover to Bell, iRIX experts have been available for further support.
