The Challenge
Ernst Schweizer AG, based in Hedingen, is a competence centre for sustainable solutions for all aspects of the building envelope, including metal/glass facades, wood/metal window systems for window manufacturers as well as folding and sliding walls made of aluminium, for smart letterboxes and parcel boxes as well as mounting systems for solar energy.

At Schweizer, in addition to quality and reliability, adherence to deadlines is also a top priority. An important tool for this is the smart application Profillog, which was developed in-house. The application was developed over 20 years ago, partly because at that time there was no standard solution for the production area that covered all of the company's needs.

Profillog accompanies the entire production path from order to delivery, is unique in its field of application and is precisely tailored to the processes at Schweizer. However, software of this kind needs constant maintenance and further development. With increasing technical progress, these tasks became more time-consuming and Schweizer needed external support.

Our Solution
In 2019, iRIX carried out a commissioned application health check and a knowledge sharing workshop. Our employees then gradually familiarised themselves with the application and have since been able to take over support and maintenance. Among other things, even more process steps could be automated in the meantime through extensions in the source code. The testing of extensions can take place in the iRIX environment, so that Schweizer's production operation is never restricted or only minimally interrupted.

The Added value for the client
Thanks to the support of iRIX, application support is guaranteed at all times - even in the event of absences or resignations. The risk of knowledge loss and production interruptions was significantly reduced with the agreed service level agreement. Likewise, the internal resources at Schweizer can be permanently relieved, so that their focus can be placed on the core tasks.
In addition, iRIX is now working on a new project that takes into account the individual ordering wishes of customers and simplifies and automates the ordering process.
