Challenge
Bell AG is one of the leading meat processors in Europe and wants to make Jedox the tool for its financial planning. Bell has been using a Jedox-based solution for a year, but it is only partially used. The consolidation is unreliable, calculated turnovers are too high and planning is therefore impossible. Some interim results even have to be checked and corrected manually. The new, revised solution for planning data is intended to improve performance and consolidation. Bell decides to implement this solution with iRIX.

Solution
Together with Bell, iRIX defines the requirements and outlines the solution path. Performance is improved by omitting unnecessary data queries. The system is thus streamlined. Reliable consolidation of data is achieved by not querying data records twice and defining authoritative nodes. Bell is divided into different profit centres, from the cutting of the raw material (meat) to the packaging (sausages, meat for grilling, etc.). These profit centres charge their services to each other and report to the cost centre. Each profit centre therefore generates turnover with the same goods. For the individual stages through which the goods pass, it is now important to set the nodes for consolidation correctly. This logic is solved by Bell in an SQL database, while the distribution to the profit centres already takes place during sales planning and is transferred accordingly to cost planning.

Added value for the client
All relevant data is now available almost in real time and depicts the precise actual state. This enables reliable planning with short response times and means an increase in efficiency. The Excel integration of Jedox allows the controllers to use the solution as a driver-based data entry frontend. The Bell and iRIX project teams work closely together in analysing the problem and implementing the solution. Since the handover to Bell, the experts from iRIX have been available for further support.
