Challenge
WGN's hardware is getting on in years, and the risk of failure is growing for the central server. All mails and data are stored at the company's local site. There are hardly any spare parts available for this server, which also runs an outdated operating system.
Solution
iRIX was commissioned with the digital modernisation and moved the mail server to the cloud as a first step. This measure relieved the old server and made the mail service more fail-safe. The old server was also virtualised so that it could be operated virtually until it was replaced in the event of a hardware failure. All desktop computers were replaced by laptops, the firewall was renewed and the company's internal wifi network was rebuilt. The installation of a modern backup concept provides additional security. All work was completed within the time schedule and the set budget.
Added value for the client
With the addition of a cloud, it is now easy to work on the go. This enables externally working employees and the members of the board of directors to have mobile and secure access to all relevant data at any time. The environment is now more fail-safe, modern and performs better.
